Israel's attack against Gaza pre-planned

Amid sonic booms that shattered windows, Israeli planes hit the three bridges and Apache helicopters targeted all six of the transformers at the power plant - an attack Israeli officials said was necessary to make any transfer of Gilad more difficult.

"Nobody understands the logic," Rafik Maliha, the plant's manager, said as firefighters worked to keep down smoke that still rose hours after the attacks. "They want to keep people in the dark so kidnappers don't move? What's the relationship?"

He added: "If there is no electricity, THERE IS NO WATER. It is more than collective punishment."

Both Palestinian and Israeli officials said the plant, built by Norway and run by oil subsidized by the European Union, provided 42 percent of the power to Gaza's 1.3 million residents, and now Gaza is completely dependent on Israel for its power.

Maliha said it would take as long as a year to replace the transformers, at a cost of more than $1 million each.
If Israel's reasoning sounds illogical, it's because it's just an excuse - a pretext to implement a pre-planned effort to decimate whatever's left of Gaza and leave Palestinians entirely dependent on Israelis.

"I don't believe at this point we'll be able to save Gilad Shalit, but we have to go in anyway," says Eliraz - conscripted troops can only give their first names.

Yvgeny, from the elite Givati Brigade, nods. "They'll know next time that they can't just go and kidnap our soldiers and expect to get away with it."

Israel's goal in Gaza is to make Palestinians uncomfort- able enough to think twice about committing more kidnappings, or in the language floating around the camp here, to teach them a lesson.

The real question is what lesson will the world learn from this fiasco?

The only response Israel deserves is Hatred. In all my life I have never seen such cruel, vile, selfish and deceitful of a lot. They provoke everyone in the world, while claiming to be a US ally and saying that their actions are always in self defense. I do not condemn all Israelis because many disagree with their government's policies. However their leadership is beyond reproach. Nuking them may be the only solution to stop them from destroying any peace and stability in the world.

This article from the AP is on Yahoo! news as we speak. Despite its obvious tone Palestinian sympathy, I would like to point out a few highlights:

"No deaths or injuries were reported in the Israeli actions."
That's right, no civilian casualties or casualities of any kind. The big bad Israelies DID NOT target civilians. There have been no reported cases of any Israeli blowing themselves up in a crowded restaurant.

But wait, there's more:
Adding to the tension, a Palestinian militant group said it killed an 18-year-old Jewish settler kidnapped in the West Bank.
Oh, the article is mistaken. There has been a casualty. An Israeli civilian was abducted and shot in the head. Right again, a CIVILIAN TEENAGER. I won't hold my breath waiting for your outrage.

chief mommy owl, it's good news that there were no civilians killed during this particular incursion - provided your source is accurate. But, as demonstrated over the last two weeks, this is not the norm.

Re: the 18yr settler, loss of young life is always tragic. However, he is an occupier - he does not live in Israel "proper" and it is to be expected that he will be targeted in the Palestinian struggle to protect themselves and their families from being dispossessed of their land. Another point worth mentioning is that his body was found buried and based on one report, he was shot in the head shortly after he was abducted on Sunday. Maybe before this whole thing started.

Finally, you failed to comment on the collective punishment of all of Gaza by destroying their bridges and electricity plants. This is a crime against humanity under international law.

What a completely outrageous statement this is. Do you not hold the Palestinians responsible for any of their actions? You talk about his "loss of life" like he died in a traffic accident. He was abducted and murdered. Why do you feel the need to pretty it up? This boy lived in the settlement of Itamar. Many innocents have been killed there. Do you dare look at the settlement's website and learn something about the evil Jews living there?

By the way, when the Jews settled on this land twenty five years ago, it was state land and NOT INHABITED by Arabs or anyone else for that matter.

It did not have to happen. Release Gilad Shalit, that's if the terrorist haven't already done him the great honor of shooting him in the head and burying him.

A settler is NOT an ordinary civilian. Those people are armed to the teeth and they're occupiers who have committed many an atrocity against Palestinian villagers aside from stealing their land. That said, I do not celebrate his killing. I said it is tragic. Though again we know little about the circumstances of his death.

And as far as the soldier is concerned - being taken prisoner is part of the risks involved in enlisting in an armed force that commits daily aggressions.

Once again, there was NO theft of land. No Palestinians were ejected from their homes. This was Israeli state land when the people were settled there twenty five years ago. Another case of the Arabs not really wanting the land until the Jews had settled there. They are mostly farmers.

Of course these people have to arm themselves. They are constantly under attack. Snipers shoot at them from the side of the roads. Their homes are invaded while they eat their Sabbath meals. Their children are being shot at. I should hope they're arming themselves.

Incidentally, if I understand Olmert's plan, this area would be evacuated anyway. But why wait wheN you can shoot people in the head instead.

As for Gilad Shalit. Yes, being taken prisoner is a risk of being in the military. So because Shalit knew the risk going in, Israel should sit back and accept his abduction and probable death in the name of diplomacy?

I should be updating my own blog. This stuff just makes me so upset.

chiefmommy owl sald: ..."NO theft of land." Yeah right, that's because it already happened when you destroyed Palestine post WWII. Where did Israeli occupiers come from? Was it Palestine? Nyet! They mostly came from Russian and Europe. "No Palestinians were ejected from their homes." I call wanton destruction of their property, including homes, ejectment. Have you studied history? So illegal settlers occupying Palestinian lands now have legal claim to the land? Under what law?

You know it gets upset too because I know an injustice when I see it. The victims are the Palestinians, not the Israelis! Admit it, you're just a Zionist apologist.

Dear Sara (babyowls.blogspot.com)
Based on the mainstream media, you failed to read between the lines, the IDF are killing the Palestenians in a more subtle way - by depriving them of their basic need. Story will be different if Palestenians are given the same military might as IDF. Then we can see the playing field are even.

Jewish groups hope they can keep
homeland security money flowing
By Ron Kampeas
June 28, 2006

WASHINGTON, June 28 (JTA) — Jewish groups gratefully absorbed more than half of the homeland security funds last year aimed at protecting nonprofits — and they’re campaigning to make sure the money keeps flowing.

An array of Jewish groups nationwide is just now beginning to spend the $14 million of the $25 million mandated by Congress in 2005 to secure at-risk nonprofit groups. Another $25 million mandated in the 2006 budget is mired in intergovernmental infighting.

The United Jewish Communities, the umbrella body of the North American Jewish federation system, is lobbying to make sure the $25 million allocation survives in the Homeland Security Department’s 2007 budget, due to be referred...

Israel starting WWIII while the US supports it. The US is a disgrace for not condemning these overt war actions. But we're doing the same thing, just killing Arabs in another part of the world. The US sits idly as Israel attacks, as Ernst Zundel is on trial and as World hatred increases against the US. Domestically, it's not much better. Gov't cages protestors, forces book outlets to stop stocking books like "America Deceived" by E.A. Blayre III, and spies on all Americans. Revolution and a clean break from Zionism, the only solution.

Collective punishment is a WAR CRIME. That is very plain in international law. Also, those that support, or fail to reasonably act to stop war crimes are cuplable as well. US tax-payers provide $6 BILLION dollars a year to Isreal so that they may further their crimes. It is not at all unreasonable to consider that one day international courts may hold US citizens, not just Israeli's, to task for their crimes against humanity.

Muslims like to kill. Obviously, since they CHOOSE to do it so much.
The JEWS ONLY DEFEND THEMSELVES.

See, Jews don't cut peoples heads off.

Jews don't INTENTIONALY kill children and blow up busses and pizza parlors.

Jews do violence when someone hurts them INTENTIONALY. This abduction is just to get prisoners released. Not happening. Now the kidnappers have to face explosive justice.

The Jews are fighting an enemy that will NEVER stop till they are all dead.

The only choice you have when someone wants to kill you is to kill them first.

GO ISREAL.

By the way, bitch and moan all you want, Isreal will go on, Iran will cease to exist before it gets a nuke, and the U.S. will continue to back Isreal.

Anyways. The truth will come out and you anonymous cowards can't hide any place any more. It won't take that long. I can assure you. Justice will come swiftly and it will be from your own pals trying to save their hide by throwing you into the fire.
