STICKS and STONES may break my bones...

Iran on Tuesday reaffirmed and defended its plan to organize a conference to examine the Holocaust.
"For over half a century, those who seek to prove the Holocaust have used every podium to defend their position. Now they should listen to others." [Iran]

[T]he planned conference [is] "proof of what a global threat Iran really is" . . . "I fear that the only reason Iran is showing so much interest in the Holocaust is because they may be preparing another Holocaust and it is up to the world and the United Nations to prevent that from happening," [Israel]

"[B]lind prejudice together with political interests and aims have closed the eyes of the Holocaust defenders to the realities of the world, and they reject without any logic a scientific conference." [Iran]

"Iran is proving yet again what an extreme, fundamentalist, lunatic regime it is." [Israel]
A conference is extreme while a pre-emptive nuclear attack is moderate and Israel, with its countless nuclear warheads, needs the UN's protection.

Enough. I admit, words can hurt you. This nonsense is torture.

I agree with comment #1. Iran seems to be going out of its way to provoke the West. This is poor strategy. It would be better, for them, if they shut up about the Holocaust, resealed their reactor, toned down the rhetoric, and made placating noises. This would--or rather, would have--denied the West any pretext for an attack. Then they could get their oil bourse in full swing.

After running the bourse for a year, the damage to US currency would be done. They could go back to doing and saying whatever they want.

Ahmadinejad is too stupid to keep his mouth shut and his head down.

As for the Holocaust conference, I can pretty well predict what will go on there. Every Jewish conspiracy theory known to man will be brought out of the closet and put on display. They may even give away free copies of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. And don't forget all that stuff about the Rothschilds, how they secretly control EVERYTHING!

None of this Holocaust-denial bullshit will do the Palastinians one whit of good, unfortunately. The Palastinian refugee issue is the conference they should be having. (Interestingly, I seem to recall that one of the demands Saddam Hussein made back in, what, 1990, 1991, was that he would withdraw from Kuwait if the West agreed to hold an international conference on Palastine. Make of that what you will.)

yep,

I cannot understand why Iran is provoking the situation so much, with it's refusal to be honest & transparent with the IAEA.

If they fully complied with the IAEA & fully publicised this fact (maybe they are & we are just not getting told - one doesn't know how much to believe as the Mainstream media are spinning the US gubermint/neocon agenda much like Iraq's WMDs), then they could establish their oil bourse in March & the US/Israeli warmongering would be exposed for what it is.

The fact that the media is not covering the Iranian Bourse Story makes me suspicious.

Also the Iranian news Agency ( http://www.irna.ir/en/news/menu-236/ ) is not discussing the Iran Bourse Story either!!!

Confusing or what?!

This conference is to examine whether the Holocaust existed or not. It is extreme and lunatic of any country to have such a conference, and is obviously meant to provoke the west. If Iran wanted to have a conference to stop genocide and LEARN from the Holocaust, that's one thing. That is NOT what Iran is doing. They are legitimizing the anti-semitic forces out there, so of course Israel is worried.

That said, it's important to remember that much of what is indisputably Israel (namely, Tel Aviv, Haifa, that area) - had Jewish settlements prior to 1917.

Of course, there were Jewish "settlements" before 1917, if that's what you want to call them.

Jews have always been a part of the Middle East, living peacefully, side by side with Arabs. Jews, like Arabs, were born there. (Arabs and Jews are both semites, btw).

By all accounts, Jews lived very distinguished lives in the Middle East, had their own close-nit and prosperous communities, and held prominent positions in society, as they are an educated and talented people. Things were comfortable for everyone involved until Balfour.

I cannot wrap my mind around why there must be so much enmity between Arabs and Jews, now, when there has never been before.

I prefer diversity myself and apparently many Jews who do not live in Israel prefer diversity, too. But, if some Jews want to live together, for whatever reason - makes them feel more secure, or whatever - that's their perogative. But, to forcibly uproot others from their homes to achieve homogenity is a totally different story. And to cut people off economically from the rest of the world is a disastrous and discriminatory policy that will not win Israel the world's admiration.

Morpheus, I saw that link. I hope that Iran takes Russia up on the offer so as to defuse this situation before it spirals out of control. And I agree, it should be Britain and France's responsibility to broker a peace agreement between Israelis and Palestinians. The United States should not interfere. We have enough problems of our own. (But, who the hell listens to me?)

As for the conference. Who cares what people discuss? Even if Iran rejected the Holocaust altogether, how would that affect reality? What's true is true, right?

Dialog is not and has never been harmful (unless you're intolerant of other people's views). People have a God-given right to express themselves. That's why God gave each of us a mouth and a free will.

Believe what you will and throw the rest in the trash bin. But, don't silence others.

And who was there before the Jews...?
Complete red-herring, unless you want all non-native Americans out of N. America.
I agree that Ahmadinejad is not making the best decision here, going after the one thing that keeps Israel on the map, the Holocaust.
But he has one good point that resonates with me.
Why are the Jews "singled out" for their suffering?
How many Christians were killed and or put in concentration camps durring WWII?
How many Russians?
What is so special about Jewis suffering as opposed to anyone elses?

While admittedly the motives behind the Iranian Holocaust conference are wrong, I see no problem with the conference in and of itself. To examine an historical event and even to question its validity is the backbone of the study of history. I'm not one of those crazy Holocaust deniers, despite the fact that I'll probably be painted as such. I'm simply a student of history. I just wonder why the Holocaust is the only historical topic which is sacrosacnt. To ask any question is to be labeled anti-Semetic.

Maybe Iran is provoking the West into a confrontation--one we can't win, in my mind--but can you blame them? We've screwed the Arab world for decades and we get very indignant when they finally tell us to piss off.

Blogger, I'm not a regular reader. THANK YOU for this post. The side-by-side quotes from Ahmedinejad and the Israelis clearly illustrate who's being creative and REAL, and who's being obstructive and tricky.

There appear to be some things we can't actually know . . .

What Ahmjedinejad has said about Zionism and the "holocaust" could be a move in someone else's chess strategy (CIA? Russians? NWO? All of the above?).

If he's actually speaking for himself, I'm totally in agreement with everything I have heard him say.

It's my belief that posters who show up and casually express their quiet disbelief that anyone could be so "anti-Semitic" as to disbelieve the standard "holocaust" info . . . are probably paid to make those postings.

Best to you.

It is this basic accouting of facts through the application of logic and deductive reasoning that is so lacking in media (and has been for my whole life) that has sent multitudes in search of truth on the internet.

It is indeed the last resort for voices of truth.

Wolf Blitzer, in speaking with Harry Belafonte, demonstrates this same tortured logic in approaching all attacks on the US as attacks on Israel. Ugh...

Well, my post may be too long but here it is:

The question of Israel is not a question of Jews. And the proposal by the Iranian president to review the Holocaust is not fanaticism. There is a prosperous Jewish community of 5,000+ living in Iran in Isfahan (a few miles away from one of the nuclear reactors of Iran and the one most likely to be bombed).

The root of the Israeli-Palestinian problem lies in the Western guilt over the Holocaust (part true and part myth in my humble opinion). War is evil and certain groups got targeted, both in WWI and WWII. The request of the Zionists at the time was in congruity with the Allied victors' desire to dismember the Arabian world.

Jews have always lived among Arabs - and the majority rules according to the dictates of democracy -- whether it was Arabs living under Jewish kings or Jews living under Arab caliphs. To carve out a niche and create an apartheid state and play havoc with the majority through superior arms and an obsession with land - that is the result of the Holocaust story - truth and myth - and that is the story of Israel. It has nothing to do with the Jewish religion, which has always lived in harmony with Islam and still does.

While Jews were persecuted and killed by Hitler, it was part of WWII and the Third Reich, not a supernatural event that would require the capitalization of an entire English word for all time to come. More people have been killed by the WWII allies - before and since. The Indian famines of the 19th century were engineered by the British and in which millions died. The same goes for the Chinese famines during the Opium wars.

Ahmedinejad is playing brilliant politics. Remember, economic independence and success ONLY comes from military superiority. Post-WWII success of Japan and Germany do not count because those countries are still occupied by the victor (US) under every definition of the word 'occupation'.

Some say that Iran should just lay low for now and focus on its oil bourse (that will trade oil in currencies than the US dollar - driving USD demand down). However, the military threat of the UK or US has to be neutralized by Iran -- or even the oil bourse can be bombed at any time. The only way to neutralize this threat is to call their bluff and up-tick the rhetoric. Followers and the scared and the weak have NEVER changed history - this is the tragedy of the human race.

The Iraq war was a result of superb Iranian spying and diplomacy - establishing it as a regional power and power broker in Iraq.

Ahmedinejad is a popularly elected leader of a proud people. Each time the US/UK calls him fanatic or calls him a "regime" he strikes back - offensively and NOT defensively. Strikes in an area where the West least expects it.

The only way to economic independence is through military superiority or at least neutralization (through treaty of bluster). Everyone, brush off your history books and wake up from the myth of a peaceful world order that has been promulgated since WWII by the UN that is the club of the "Great Powers". One thing mankind has consistently done through the ages is WAR - WAR is evil but necessary to sort out probems that inevitably occur when interests conflict.

That's how we all were until we ceded authority to the state. Until the UN becomes a Hobbesian Leviathan - impartial and dispenser of justice - in other words until we live in a world-state eventually - let's have war. Maybe it is the only antidote to tyranny for now until there is justice in the world and an equal opportunity for other powers to be 'Great'.

Hello comrades:
I'm directed to this blog by headline on 25 Jan 06 WhatReallyHappened.com, a truly high-powered website, as u may know. (Pls see my relevant commentary on other blogs run by "qrswave," entitled "Iran Declares War On History," and also the one on MLK, I forget the exact title. Also, my essays can be found under "commentary" on NewNation.org and WhiteAlert.com.)

U know, the idea Iran is anything but attacked, threatened, slandered, besmirched, embattled, beseiged, targetted, etc. by the terror state of Israel (and Jews) and the Jew-nited States is just a brainless, putrid joke. Who do these Jews and "commentator" creatures, above, think they're kidding?

"Jew-conspiracies"?--try Christian New Testament wherefore Pharisees (Jews), Sadduceans, "scribes," elders, chief priests, Herodians, and then the gentile Roman imperialists approving, thence made out to be the fall-guys, put to death the very Son-of-God (and truth itself, according to Gosp. JOHN).

Conspiracy?--observe the Federal Reserve Bank (Fed) is crass counterfeiting scam, pure and simple, verified by such as Jew Murray Rothbard in his "Mystery Of Banking." Ck also G.E. Griffin's "Creature From Jekyll Island," among several other well-researched works. The Fed, owned largely if not overwhelmingly by Jews, "loans" "funds" which don't exist which money is then, among other things, ultimately printed up (hence counterfeited) directly causing inflation as well as defrauding everyone else. And note such counterfeit-fraud is no more Constitutional or in any way ethical than murder--it being totally impossible and inconceivable for Constitution to countenance such fraud, any more than Constitution could condone or make lawful the act of murder. For we Aryans, for one, from the time of Cicero, the old Roman patriot, understand there really is no law but natural law, this proceeding fm reason.

Note Jew Bernard Lazare in his "Antisemitism," published in 1894, admits Jews have controlled banking fm 14th century.

Observe above (obviously Jew) commentators pathetically hope to anticipate and thence discredit thereby the simplest truth merely by naming and detailing it first, i.e., the fact Rothschilds and Jew accomplices and now their descendents dominate banking and finance, including especially the Fed counterfeiting scam. Thus Jews fool themselves, thinking thereby they "create" truth by means of psychotic repetition. It's actually comical the way these Jew liars think they discredit truth merely by means of speaking of it in sneering fashion. U're just babbling to urselves, u psychotic Jews.

But slowly and surely Jews, we gentiles, Aryans, and Christians continue to draw ur putrid, lying "venom," exposing u to a candid world, the uncensored (still largely) internet, presently that instrument delivering your worst enemy, the truth.

I note that disgusting "Morpheus" character again, obviously a Jew in all effrontery, blaming England and France--well yes, they were infiltrated and essentially taken over by the Rothschilds early in the 19th century, weren't they? And the Ottomans--they also were riddled with Jews at the top at the end, the Jews masterminding the Armenian genocide prior to and during the first World war, eh? The "Balfour Declaration" was drawn up at the behest of Jews (in order to entangle the USA wherein they'd actually favored Germany against the Czar) and literally addressed to Rothschild ("Lionel," I believe). Tell me u didn't know it, eh "Morpheus"?

But mark my word Jews, we Christian patriots will bring about a Constantinian (as of the 4th cent. Roman emp.) Christian revolution yet in the West whence Christianity will be explicitly understood for its true and proper purpose: ABSOLUTE ANTISEMITISM. The real enemy of humanity, truth, and God is the Jews, the spawn of their father, the devil (Gosp. JOHN 8:44). "Zionists" are merely Jews putting their putrid Talmudic "religion" of insanity to practice.

So there u go Jews, go run to another blog and tell more of your stupid, dumbass lies there, u absolutely incredible creatures. Apollonian

Iran is saying extreme things now because they are in a position to win.

Israel and the US would be foolish to even attempt to attack Iran. And Iran knows it. They have the US by the balls, and they are just pulling and tugging at 'em. And boy does it hurt.

Why is it insane to have a conference on the holocaust? I would have thought it was a fantastic opportunity for the west to field their experts and once and for all shut up the holocaust detractors.
I always believed in the holocaust and the only thing that has made me start to wonder is the fact that they gaol people for questioning it or cut them down mercilessly in the press. Much has been proven to be exagerration and lies and even now people still believe things that have been without doubt relegated to the war propaganda basket. It would be good to find out what we really do know.
If they put up then the deniers would shutup and the rest of the world would also be convinced.
